Flight Control Academy

About the Flight Control Academy

The FCA is conveniently located near the Tucson International Airport, just south of Interstate 10 at exit 262, Park Avenue/Benson Highway.

The FCA also has an affiliation with several commercial air service companies, including Jeppesen and Global Weather Dynamics (for flight planning, and weather retrieval, including graphic and non-graphic weather) and Flight Explorer with real-time Aircraft Situation Display (ASD), enabling students to track and flight follow all flights operating in the National Airspace System of the U.S.
Our FAA approved curriculum is taught by five (5) FAA approved instructors, including an FAA Aircraft Dispatch Designated Examiner, three former airline dispatchers with major airlines and a combined experience of 100+ years, and an ATC instructor with 43 years experience as Area Supervisor LAX Tower, Air Traffic Manager Chicago-ORD Tower, and Manager Tucson Tower.

The answer to the question that several other approved schools tell you to ask concerning the experience level of instructors when trying to make a decision as to which school to attend is:

The FCA instructors who all hold aircraft dispatcher certificates and conduct the training in Federal Aviation Regulations, Meteorology, Navigation, Practical Dispatching, and Air Traffic Control, are persons who have worked in the field for major air carriers as dispatch managers, aircraft dispatchers, meteorologist, and a crew member, and have a combined experience of over 130 years.

Guest speakers may visit the Academy to provide information related directly to the performance of an aircraft dispatchers' duties.
